ST. LOUIS - March 2, 2015 - PRLog -- A huge shakeup in the travel industry this morning as longtime CEO J. Scott Tomer officially resigned from YTB, Inc. today.  Tomer has been affiliated with the company since its inception in 2001 and appeared in company marketing materials as recently as December of last year.

In a separate announcement from the company, Shelly Coppersmith, daughter of original YTB Co-founder Kim Sorensen, was named as the new CEO.

In a statement from the company, Coppersmith said she was ““…extremely honored to be named CEO of YTB.  I am thankful for the opportunity to continue the legacy of YTB.”

YTB is one of many Direct Sales companies operating in the travel sector.  They sell travel agencies and group travel via a network of home based agents located all around the U.S. and Canada.

This news comes just days after an announcement from many of YTB’s top salespeople citing their departure for new travel startup Surge365, which plans to launch, according to their website at www.surge365.com, in just a matter of hours as of press time.
