PARTYThe Hambidge Center and the American Craft Council are joint beneficiaries of the 2015 American Craft Council Craft Show Preview Party. In addition to upscale food and drink, the evening offers patrons the opportunity to meet more than 225 American Craft Council participating artists, and best of all – a chance to purchase their works ahead of the crowds. For 2015, Preview Party attendees will have a chance to mix and mingle with the nation’s top craft artists while enjoying live entertainment, cocktails, Scotch whiskey tastings from The Balvenie, and other delectable offerings. Co-Chairs for the Preview Party are: Malissa and Bill Peace, Elizabeth Morgan Spiegel and Kathy and David Williams. Special exhibits this year include: Make Room, Modern Design Meets Craft featuring spectacular room designs created by top designers. Themed “4 Elements” in its third year, the rooms will visually communicate Mother Nature’s awe-inspiring elements: earth, air, fire or water. The American Craft™ Charm Collection, which will expand its exclusive ACC artist-designed collection of contemporary charms, charm bracelets, cluster pendants and pins to include bracelets and necklaces that can be used to collect charms. Hip Pop, highlighting the creative works of the best and brightest emerging craft artists who are new to the show scene. Selected through a jury process, emerging artists will be grouped into pop-up shops to debut their craft. SHOWThe 26th annual American Craft Council Show will take place at the Cobb Galleria Centre from March 13 - 15. The show will feature more than 225 of the nation’s most respected craft artists who will exhibit and sell their latest one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry, furniture, clothing, home decor and more. As the Southeast’s largest indoor juried craft show, artists are selected through a rigorous process to ensure admission of the highest quality work. BENEFICIARIES 2015 will mark the 81st year the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences has provided residency fellowships to distinguished artists and scientists at a 600-acre creative sanctuary in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Individuals in residence have access to private studios and accommodations, as well as communal dinners.
