Geenapp Report Reveals Cost-Per-Install Trends Around The World

Global CPI Wars shows significant disparities between regions and operating systems
BARCELONA, Spain - Feb. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- Geenapp, the social-powered mobile app discovery platform, has released the first in an ongoing series of reports analyzing Cost- Per-Install (CPI) data in the international app economy. Global CPI Wars – which draws on data from over 300,000 campaigns and 300 ad networks – shows where app advertising is heating up and what the average install cost is per country. The report reveals a significant cost disparity between iOS and Android installs, and that Japan, Germany and Australia have some of the highest CPI rates. The full report can be downloaded here:

“There’s an intense CPI war taking place every second of every day in the global app economy – we’ve created this report to give developers a better understanding of the market they’re trying to compete in,” said Jaime Ferré, CEO of Geenapp. “Developers want to minimize their CPI and get their apps listed in the top rankings, while networks and publishers want to maximize commission while offering the best apps. This means that for the same app, on the same device and in the same country, there may be up to 35 different prices!

“But ultimately, the greatest battle that developers face is attracting new users. To succeed in the ongoing quest for app discovery, they need to have a clear global user acquisition strategy and understand the value of their app in each market.”

Global CPI Wars Highlights
- Average CPI cost for iOS apps is over two-thirds more than for Android ($1.67 iOS vs. $0.98 Android)
- 71% of global app spending is via iOS
- Of the countries analyzed in developed economies, Japan has the highest average CPI, while Brazil has the lowest
- Health and Travel apps had the highest CPI, followed by Dating, Gaming and Productivity

Geenapp’s goal is to help developers get their apps in front of the right audience, while offering publishers new ways to monetize their traffic through the power of person-to-person recommendation on a global scale. To do this, the company monitors, qualifies and categorizes hundreds of thousands of active offers across mobile advertising networks. It then cleans and extracts data to provide the best offers to publishers. Using real-time algorithms and highly efficient data processing, Geenapp matches the best available advertising offer to publishers at the best price. Publishers then use a simple API to promote their chosen apps through social media and get paid for every install.
