Careers advice in schools gets a digital makeover with free new Plotr magazine

A free, monthly digital magazine has launched in February 2015 to help young people aged 11-24 find careers inspiration in a way which enables them to explore a wide variety of career pathways for careers they will love.

Feb. 25, 2015 - PRLog -- The free Plotr digital magazine is available for download at: https://www.plotr.co.uk/advice/magazine/

Aligned with the school calendar year, the monthly digital Plotr magazine provides advice, introduces careers and opportunities, plus features exclusive stories and content direct from young people and employers - connecting them in a fresh, seamless way.

The free app is available on both iTunes and Google Play and packaged with industry insight into the differences between appealing content on print, web and mobile platforms.

Smartphone uptake is occurring at increasingly young ages. A 2014 UCAS Media survey revealed that 82% of new university and college students own a smartphone and at least 20% have a tablet. [1] In an Ofcom-devised “DQ” test to determine awareness around mobile devices, digital understanding was shown to peak between the ages of 14 and 15. [2]

Previous career advice innovations by the Plotr website have included the Game, a free online psychometric game helping young people match their personality, skills and interests to real and relevant careers. It is thought to be the first free online psychometric testing tool of its kind in the UK.

The Plotr magazine app is being launched as part of a complete refresh of independent careers website, Plotr.co.uk.

Chief Executive of Plotr, Jim Carrick-Birtwell, said “Jobs are evolving fast and they should inspire and excite all young people. Plotr’s role is to provide inspiration on all the options available in an engaging, fun way. We hope the new Plotr, driven by its psychometric brain, will become an incredibly valuable tool that helps young people make more informed decisions at key points in their lives.”
