Employees Meet TJ the Buffalo at the Arrowhead Systems Open House

RANDOLPH, Wis. - Feb. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- Arrowhead Systems, the parent company of  Busse/SJI and A&B Engineering Services, hosted an Open House for employees and their families on February 21, 2015. The event’s purpose was to open the doors to the employees’ families so they could get a first-hand look at the conveyor equipment that is manufactured, supported, and serviced at 124 North Columbus Street in Randolph.

The event drew a crowd of approximately 350 attendees. One of the main attractions was TJ, the 9-foot tall mounted buffalo. The mascot made his initial debut in November 2014 at the Pack Expo tradeshow in Chicago, but only a few employees had actually seen the large beast. The Arrowhead Systems management team wanted to give guests a close-up look of TJ at the Open House, along with the opportunity to have their photo taken with him.

In addition to meeting TJ, employees and their guests were entertained with plant tours, a scavenger hunt, prize drawings, and a luncheon.  There were also several activities geared for kids. Young children lined up for face painting, balloon animals, and a close-up look at the Randolph fire truck. The kids also used their artistic talents to color engineering prints of Busse/SJI’s machinery.

“Our employees were proud to display this first-class operation to their children, parents, and grandparents. In fact, we received many compliments on how clean and well-maintained our facility is,” responded Scott Chehak, Busse/SJI’s Vice President/General Manager when asked about his reaction to the event. Chehak continued, “Prior to the Open House many of our visitors did not fully comprehend what a palletizer or depalletizer looks like or what it does, so they were impressed when they saw the large scale of the machines that we manufacture here. It was also a learning experience for adults and children alike when they realized that our equipment touches many of the products that we use every day such as aluminum cans for carbonated soft drinks,  glass jars for jams and pickles, plastic containers for detergent and fabric softener, and cases of just about anything you can think of. ”

Arrowhead Systems hosted a similar event for the employees at their Oshkosh facility the previous weekend. The Oshkosh location is the home of Arrowhead Conveyor.
