| ![]() Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort Hosts Former U.S. Ski Team Members for Fourth Annual Scouters CupBy: Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort Basic group registration is $1,000 per team of four and includes a Thursday evening reception at Badlands Golf Course; complimentary day lift tickets on Thursday and Friday; a pre-event ski training clinic; swag bag; discounted event day lift tickets for families and coworkers; special event recognition for the company participating; Teams will be made of up to four skiers and/or snowboarders and can include former U.S. Ski Team members. The races will be timed by NASTAR (National Standard Race) and professional athletes will receive handicaps. Race winners will receive prizes including an engraved Scouters’ Cup trophy. On Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, a special event reception and silent auction will be held at Badlands Golf Club (9119 Alta Drive, Las Vegas, NV. 89145) at 6 p.m. At the event, attendees will be able to place bids on select professional skiers (see below) to join their competition team. Scouters’ Cup Itinerary Thursday, February 26 Race Clinic and Practice Session at LVSSR 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Race clinic with former U.S. Ski Team members and race course practice Scouters’ Cup Reception at Badlands Golf Course Club House 6:00 p.m. Race packet pick up, registration and silent auction with bidding former Olympians and U.S. Ski Team members 6:30-9 p.m. Dinner and refreshments Friday, February 27 Scouters’ Cup Race Day at LVSSR 8:30 a.m. Registration and continental breakfast (provided) 9:30 a.m. Race 1 including former U.S. Ski Team members 10:45 a.m. Race 2 including former U.S. Ski Team members 12:00 p.m. Lunch (provided) 2-4:30 p.m. Award ceremony at the base lodge and free skiing/snowboarding the rest of the afternoon Former U.S. Ski Team members and instructors competing: Kenny Kuykendall: Former U.S. Ski Team member and freestyle skier and coach. Ken Bott: Former U.S. Ski Team member – raced CanAm and Europa Cup, pacesetter for Nastar, ski coach, former U.S. Junior Olympian. Erwin Kolleger: At age 18, became one of the youngest ski instructors for Switzerland’ Funds raised at the event will support more than 20,000 youth in quality Scouting programs in Southern Nevada and Northwestern Arizona and parts of California. Scouting programs emphasize character development, citizenship training, and personal fitness for youth. The Scouters’ Cup is part of the NASTAR racing program at LVSSR. Developed in 1968 by SKI Magazine, NASTAR allows recreational racers to compete and compare scores throughout the United States in a universal scoring system.
