Actress Tess Paras To Emcee 37th Annual LA Chinatown Firecracker Event

LOS ANGELES - Feb. 21, 2015 - PRLog -- Actress and fitness enthusiast Tess Paras has been selected as the honored emcee of the 2015 Los Angeles Firecracker Event on Saturday, Feb 28, 2015.

The annual two-day Firecracker Festival (Saturday, February 28 - Sunday, March 1) takes place in Chinatown's Central Plaza and brings together families and recreational athletes of all ages to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Registration is open for the annual 5k and 10k run, a 20-mile and 30-mile bike ride and a Kiddie Run. Festival entertainment and expo presentations are free to the public.

This year performers include: singer Larissa Lam, cultural dancers Grupo Folklorico Tzintzuni, Japanese taiko drummers Kodaima Taiko, Polynesian dance troupe Manea Hula, and indie rock band Run River North, to name a few. Paras will emcee the Firecracker Bike Ride and performances on the first day of the festival and will run the 10k run on March 1st.

“I’m thrilled to be emceeing the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Event. Not only does this fun event bring together thousands of people to celebrate the diverse culture of LA, but it also raises money to help inner city youth throughout the year,” says Paras.

Passionate about health and fitness, Paras enjoys biking, yoga, dance, and is master trainer of POUND Rockout Workout, a fusion of pilates and drumming which she has taught across the country. As an actress, Tess Paras may be most recognized from her role on the hit NBC drama Grimm as “Dana Tomas” a Filipino immigrant and Sgt. Wu's (Reggie Lee) life-long crush. Recently, she appeared on the FOX Comedy, “Mulaney” and can be seen on this season of DIsney’s Girl Meets World and ABC Family’s Switched At Birth. Paras also wrote and starred in "Typecast," a viral-video satirizing the audition experiences of actresses of color which has has amassed more than a half million views and was featured in Jezebel, Buzzfeed, Slate, The Wrap, and The Onion A.V. club, among others.
