Follow on Google News | DMI Releases Top Eight Enterprise Mobility Trends for 2015Insights from Annual Enterprise Mobility Trends Report Reveal Mobile Shifts and Strategies in Application Development, Big Data, MDM, Security and the Cloud
Based on its expertise in end-to-end mobility solutions, DMI combines insights from customers, partners and ongoing research to encourage organizations to begin rethinking existing business models by considering how a “mobile first” backbone will alter the way they are doing business today. Below are three key findings from the report: · Moving beyond device management: Mobile security has never been about securing the device, but about securing the data. The shift to data and application management has become a top priority and companies are, and must continue, prioritizing security for corporate applications and content. · Relative TCO of laptops in question: It’s time for enterprises to rethink how they view computers for work. Do employees need a smartphone, a tablet, a laptop and accessories to get the job done? By assessing the needs of the workforce, enterprises can better determine the number and type of devices that are needed at work and in the field, whether that be shared workstations that rely on desktop and application virtualization or thin client, or another mobile form factor. · Mobile and Cloud have converged: Mobile devices are merely access points to a person’s or company’s data, which is more and more often being housed on mobile clouds. However, mobile cloud platforms can be expensive and don’t always provide an affordable, scalable solution. The reality is, there isn’t one go-to solution in this space, and across the board, the user experience isn’t where it needs to be. DMI believes companies such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft are driving the greatest innovation in this space and provide the most flexible and scalable solutions. Jay Sunny Bajaj, DMI founder and CEO, said: “At DMI, we’ve worked with almost all of the big and niche players in this space, and what we’re seeing is that ‘mobile first’ is no longer an option; it is becoming a business imperative. It is our goal to help enterprises understand the incredible mobility opportunities available to them today while helping them overcome the significant challenges in implementing and maintaining these solutions.” About DMI: DMI, the world’s first end-to-end mobility company, combines all the skills and services necessary to deliver mobile enterprise solutions.
