TOLKIEN FAN SITE THEONERING.NET HOSTS THE ONE LAST PARTY

LOS ANGELES, CA (February 16, 2015) – Tolkien fan website TheOneRing.net (TORn) will host The One Last Party at the historic Hollywood American Legion Hall on Saturday, February 21, 2015, preceding Oscar® night. Since 2002 the website has hosted six lavish fan parties in honor of Peter Jackson’s six Middle-earth films. 2004’s ‘Return of the One Party’ was attended by Peter Jackson, Elijah Wood, the cast and Oscar®-winning crew of Peter Jackson’s The Return of the King and was proclaimed the “hottest bash” that year by the LA Times.

Listed by Yahoo! As one of the ‘6 Oscar Viewing Parties in Hollywood You Need to Know About,’ The One Last Party was funded through an IndieGoGo campaign, which raised over $219,000 USD.  TheOneRing.net obtained party sponsorship from Warner Brothers Home Entertainment with support from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Premiere Events, Sideshow Collectibles, Middle-earth wines and New Zealand Tourism. This extravagant party will feature Middle-earth themed food, live entertainment, a silent auction and décor reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films.

Party performances will be headlined by William Kircher‘s (Bifur from The Hobbit films), band The California Dreamers. World-renowned Celtic rock band Emerald Rose will also take the stage.  For fans who can’t attend, TheOneRing.net will be hosting a live video stream from the party on the their website. Costumed classical guitarist, Michael Bilach aka: “Singing Gandalf,” a roving close-up magician and three caricaturists will also entertain the 650 expected revelers.

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies cast members William Kircher (Bifur), John Bell (Bain),  Lord of the Rings Trilogy actor/stuntman Sala Baker (Sauron) and Producer Tom DeSanto, (X-Men, Transformers, and Tolkien Documentary Ringers: Lord of the Fans) will be in attendance, with Bruce Hopkins (Gamling) acting as MC for the live show. Further cast of Jackson’s Middle-earth films may also appear.

Past entertainers at TheOneRing Oscar® parties include: Billy Boyd (Pippin) and his band Beecake, Dominic Monaghan (Merry) and Ian McKellen impersonator Hunter Davis.

Party attire is formal and listed as “black tie and pointy ears optional.”
