Feb. 18, 2015 - PRLog -- Nas Khan, managing director of North East-based Jennings Motor Group, was one of six honorees worldwide and the only representative in the UK, to receive Ford Motor Company’s prestigious ‘2015 Salute to Dealers’ award.

The award is in recognition of Nas’s on-going commitment and support to various charities within the local community, in addition to The Emaan Foundation, a registered charity set up by the md that has funded the construction of a new village in Pakistan following the devastating floods in 2010.

Nas said; “I am absolutely honoured and delighted to win such a prestigious award from Ford Motor Company.  We have and always will be a company committed to supporting the local community whenever we can.”

As well as receiving the award, Nas, also received a commissioned watercolour collage representing his involvement in the variety of causes he supports, a copy of which will be on display at Ford Motor Company’s World Headquarters in Dearborn Michigan, for the next two years.

Over the years many local charities have benefited from generous contributions and support from Jennings Ford.

For the past 16 consecutive years, Jennings Ford has supported The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Appeal by using its branch network across the region as ‘drop-off’ and ‘collection points’ for gift donations.  Last year, the company donated £1000 worth of gifts, in addition to donating the use of a Ford Transit van to the charity’s Southwick Community Project in Sunderland, for the duration of the Appeal.

In 2010, following the devastating floods in Pakistan, Nas, launched an appeal to raise £120,000 through his own charity, The Emaan Foundation.

Having now nearly topped the fundraising goal, which to date has purchased lifesaving water purifiers called Life Straws distributed via Human Appeal in the aftermath of the floods, in addition to contributing towards constructing a village in Rahim Yar Khan, south of Punjab consisting of 60 homes complete with livestock and clean drinking water to make it self-sufficient, he has set himself a new goal – to build a health centre.

Nas added; “At present, residents have to travel hundreds of miles for treatment, so my next goal is to raise enough funds to build a health centre in the village.”
