16th Annual ART PAPERS Art Auction

ATLANTA - Feb. 15, 2015 - PRLog -- ART PAPERS announces its 16^th Annual ART PAPERS Art Auction, a weekend that has become Atlanta’s most anticipated art event each year and its largest contemporary art auction. This glam event brings together more than 200 renowned and emerging artists from Atlanta and around the world and is expected to draw more than 1,200 attendees to a stunning new location on the Westside BoBo Intriguing Objects. The Art Auctionoffers art lovers the opportunity to build their collections while enjoying one or both of the great parties.

This not-to-be-missed event is ART PAPERS’ largest fundraiser with all proceeds going to support the programs of ART PAPERS, which include the award winning ART PAPERS magazine, noted lecture series ART PAPERS LIVE, the newly launched Exhibitions program, the ARTIST PROJECT Program, and new digital initiatives. The purchase of artwork also supports the artists in the auction who have generously donated proceeds from their work in support of ART PAPERS’ mission.

For the 16^th Annual Auction, ART PAPERS is pleased to feature artworks from recent High Museum exhibiting artist Alejandro Aguilera, architect and designer Tristan Al-Haddad, Artadia Award finalist Paul Stephen Benjamin, NYC artist Phong Bui, established Atlanta photographer and philanthropist Lucinda Bunnen, Atlanta artist Carolyn Carr, recent MOCA GA Working Artist Project winner Sarah Emerson, 2014 ART PAPERS cover artist Cécile B. Evans, 2014 recipient of the prestigious John Gutmann Photography Fellowship Nancy Floyd and 2015 Hudgens Award finalist Scott Ingram.

WHAT:          The 16th Annual ART PAPERS Art Auction will feature an impressive showcase of work by established and emerging artists from Atlanta and around the world benefitting ART PAPERS’ award-winning programs. This see and be seen event features great musical acts, fabulous people watching, collection-worthy art, high-end cocktails, plus hors d’oeuvres and desserts provided by some of Atlanta’s finest restaurants.

         Each year, ART PAPERS welcomes a broad array of artists working in a variety of media including photography, painting, drawing and sculpture. A big draw of the Auction is that one can find artwork at a variety of price points appealing to both the novice and experienced collector.

WHERE:       For the first time in 10 years, the ART PAPERS Art Auction has a new location. In 2015, the 16^th Annual ART PAPERS Art Auction will be at the stunning BoBo Intriguing Objects, located in Atlanta’s Westside design district.

During this smaller, more intimate event, VIP guests will enjoy a sneak peek at the artwork with the option to advance purchase works before Saturday’s main event. Also available are private tours of the pieces to watch, the opportunity to meet many of the participating artists, live music from Kissing Electric, catered hors d’oeuvres and open bar.

         Silent Auction + Party $50 advance / $65 at door. At the Silent Auction + Party, attendees will vie for new works for their collections during the auction, while enjoying music from DJ Tim DeGroot, a fully-stocked cash bar and bites from popular Atlanta restaurants like Sotto Sotto, Fritti, Campagnolo Restaurant + Bar and HENRY’S Midtown Tavern.  And with emcees like Jaye Lish and Edie Cheezburger, attendees should always expect the unexpected.
