AMARILLO, Texas - Feb. 13, 2015 - PRLog -- “Fittest Man on Earth,” Rich Froning, will support Mission 2540’s Faith, Family and Fitness Weekend on April 10-11 during which the organization will attempt to set the Guinness Book World Record for most people doing burpees, a fitness exercise, at one time.

Four-time “Fittest Man on Earth” and CrossFit Games Champion, Rich Froning, will be attending the event on Friday evening where he and his fitness partner will participate in an invitation-only, two-person fitness competition. There is no cost to attend, but Mission 2540 will be accepting donations at the door.

Saturday morning at the Amarillo High School practice field, the organization hopes to make record-breaking history. Mission 2540 is aiming to set the Guinness Book World Record for the most people doing burpees at one time. The burpee is a simple exercise nearly anyone can do, and 250 people are needed to participate in order to set the record.

Mission 2540 invites the community to participate in the event, and the first 300 to sign up and donate $20 to the organization will received a World Record Holder t-shirt.

About Mission 2540
From magic shows to helping parents find jobs, Mission 2540 supports Amarillo families living in low-income affordable apartment communities. Led by Brooks Boyett, the organization’s mission stems from Matthew 25:40 as they reach out to hurting kids and families and strive to meet their physical, spiritual and emotional needs.

Bringing hope to the lives of children, Mission 2540 provides after-school games, crafts, snacks and entertainment like Brooks’ infamous weekly magic shows. Another favorite event is Camp Awesome, a 3-day summer camp at Hidden Falls Ranch. For many kids, this is the only trip they’ll take outside city limits all year. Activities like these light up the world for these children.

Support is also provided to the entire family. The organization delivers school supplies each school year to families and Christmas gifts in December. From job searching, to helping with electric bills and groceries, Mission 2540 strives to stabilize their home life in as many ways possible. The ultimate goal is to show these children and families there are men and women in our community who care about them, believe in them and want them to succeed in life.
