Longest Lunch Moves Into The Heart Of Port With Stunning New Location

PORT DOUGLAS, Australia - Feb. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Event manager Danielle Fischer said ‘long lunchers’ could still expect all the glitz and glamour of the high profile celebrity event, but in a location that made the most of Port Douglas’ spectacular ocean views.

“It is only fitting that this iconic event has an equally fitting iconic location, which is why Rex Smeal Park is just perfect for such an occasion.”

Ms Fischer said it would still be the Longest Lunch that everybody knows and loves – and that has traditionally kicked off Carnivale celebrations for the last 14 years – but even better.

“Rex Smeal Park sits majestically right on the tip of the peninsular, close to town, and there is ample parking for those that are driving.

“There will be plenty of shade, lots of room to move around, dance, take in the entertainment and then at the end of the day, conveniently walk back to your accommodation,” she added.

Behind the menu, which has an emphasis on fresh, locally inspired produce, is the highly acclaimed team at Port Douglas Catering and Events.

“Port Douglas Catering and Events have justifiably earned a reputation over the years for their delicious food and impeccable eye for detail.

“We know our guests will be just as excited as we are to be working with this incredibly talented team to deliver a wonderful, refreshed event,” Ms Fischer added.

Highlights on the menu include coffee cured Atlantic salmon, local smoked chicken, crispy skin barramundi, sous vide herb rolled lamb back strap, crispy molten chocolate truffle, gold topped macha green tea tiramisu and roaring 40s Blue & Phoques Cove Brie with pear paste and lavosh.

The afternoon will be complete with live artists, roving entertainers, a fashion parade and live music.
