Rolfing at the YinOva Center NYC Rolfing is a form of Structural Integration and a hands on bodywork which balances and aligns the body through working with the fascia, or connective tissues in the body. Rolfing takes a look at the lines of fascial support in the body and works to de-adhere the places that have gotten sticky and dehydrated, bringing glide, ease, and hydration back to the tissues. As the tissue regains health and balance, posture and alignment improve, pain decreases, and movement is support, balanced, and fluid. Rolfing is ideal for those that are looking to improve upon posture, treat chronic pain and discomfort, those recovering from injuries and are generally more slow to heal, those that are recovering from surgeries (even years after the fact), and those that are suffering from stress and anxiety. Brooke Thomas is a certified rolfer in New York City and also a Tune Up yoga and fitness instructor. Brooke specializes in chronic pain, restrictions in mobility, and injury and surgery recovery. Brooke Thomas graduated from the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, Colorado in 2000 and has been practicing Rolfing for over 15 years. Brooke is the author of ‘Why Fascia Matters’ and enjoys teaching her clients self-care tools to keep them pain free.
