Art on the Go: PODS® of Houston joins with Houston Arts Alliance to paint the town

HOUSTON - Feb. 10, 2015 - PRLog -- To show support of local arts and help inspire creativity within the community, PODS of Houston, a moving and storage company, has teamed up with Houston Arts Alliance for  2^nd art installation project with additional support provided by Gensler.

This is Houston Arts Alliance Civic Art + Design program’s second iteration of a temporary public art installation series featuring the transformation of PODS Containers into works of art. The 2014 - 2015 artists selected are Elaine Bradford and Emily Link, Brandon Rayand Team Paper Brain (Darwin Arevalo, Rodney Flores, Rob Mozell, Lisa Ray and Janiece Rivas), Thomas Rolls, Jr. and Troy Stanley.

Each artist or artist team received their PODS Container this fall and spent three months in the construction process, based on designs submitted as part of the grant process. All four transformed PODS Containers will be showcased at White Oak Conference Center, 7603 Antoine, beginning in late January. The individual PODS Containers will then be placed in different locations across Greater Houston, taking contemporary art into our region’s many diverse neighborhoods. All four will “reconvene” in Oyster Creek Park in Sugar Land, where they will be on display from late April until the end of May.
