PHOENIX - Feb. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Shade Projects is proud to present instApache Filtered Rezolution: Social Media Now, the work of Douglas Miles on display in Bokeh Gallery this March 2015. This exhibition showcases Miles Instagram photography, brilliantly capturing his life, artwork, inspirations and politics through a contemporary Apache lens. Miles is making art for and utilizing social media as an immediate platform and medium, which allows him to illustrate what contemporary Indigenous culture is  today dispensing with the formalities and outdated notions of indigenous life.

Miles creates both fine art and street art while living and working on the San Carlos Apache-Akimel O’odham Reservation. His art celebrates his heritage while at the same time reflecting upon the realities of life on the reservation, inspired by his family, community, pop-culture, and fine art. Shade Projects Curator, Nicole Royse says, “This exhibition displays genuine and powerful imagery elevating his social media to fine are as he continues to bring attention to and give his community a voice, changing  our view of what it means to be a contemporary Native American artist today.”

The Opening Reception will be held on First Friday, March 6th, 2015 from 6-10pm with the artist in attendance.
