Carela, a new tea and beverage company in CT, supports glucose concerned adults with new products
As Carela tea blends and beverages go on sale on CarelaFoods.com and Amazon.com for the first time this week, Carela has quietly entered an industry dominated by massive beverage producers. The Carela co-founders, having invested upwards of a $1m dollars of cash and time over the last 3 years, created their products to add optionality for those adults who are glucose concerned.
As noted by Carela Co-Founder Gloria Reynolds: “Family members introduced us to this Asian vegetable called Bitter Melon over four years ago, and as we witnessed amazing health benefits in their lives, we decided to take this new super veggie and embark on capturing it's powerful efficacy while ensuring an enjoyable refreshing taste. Having succeeded, we are now making it accessible to millions of Americans.”
Unsurprisingly, the company is keen to ensure that consumers understand their products are not positioned as a cure, drug or even a replacement for the sometimes difficult regimes required for those adults struggling with their glucose levels. DayRiver, an investment company operating as a woman/minority backed enterprise (W/MBE) that has invested in Carela, is confident in its potential. DayRiver Partner Daniel Casanas commented that, "Beverage consumers are demanding healthy products that align to their personal health and wellness goals, so we believe Carela will play a meaningful role in daily regimens and we look forward to growing the brand with new partners”.
Carela has bold ambitions for a small company that has yet to secure the millions of dollars needed to distribute a new beverage brand on a national scale. However, Carela has set off to prove itself worthy. The company is already showcasing their products at the Gulfood tradeshow in Dubai from February 8th to 12th 2015, underscoring this American brand’s global approach. Given the global nature of unhealthy sugar consumption, Carela noted that it has already garnered some international interest.
Carela’s stated mission is simple: offer delicious glucose soothing products with great ingredients. In doing so, Carela could soon bring all glucose concerned adults something they actually care about: great tasting products that can be consumed guilt-free.
