AddTransit Beta Launch of GTFS software

Easy to use cloud based General Transit Feed Specification software for bus companies

Feb. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- AddTransit is making it easier for bus companies to get their schedules online: Think a world class interface for locating bus stops, mapping bus routes, storing schedules and timetables in a way that works seamlessly with Google, Bing or Yahoo maps. This will allow bus passengers to plan their trips — any time, any place, immediately.

AddTransit (http://addtransit.com) is a new destination for bus companies to take their business to the next level. Their custom built software based in the cloud, allows bus companies to create their schedules in the internationally recognized file format known as the General Transit Feed Specification or GTFS.  This format can then be used by the major internet companies and mobile app providers to deliver easy to use scheduling tools to bus customers.

“AddTransit brings custom built GTFS software to all bus companies by using the cloud,” says Neil Selkirk, Customer Advocate and General Manager of AddTransit. “We are giving the mid sized and smaller bus companies, the experience the big companies get but at a fraction of the price. We believe that all passengers, no matter where they live, should be able to experience the freedom of accessing the best scheduling solutions offered by the Internet giants, and we know that AddTransit will make it easier for companies that don’t have or can’t afford expensive IT solutions to produce the necessary files in the required format.  This is going to open up online schedules on maps to a whole new audience.”

The nature of AddTransit’s platform makes the creation of schedules for bus companies a snap—no software installation is required as all that is required is access to the internet and a AddTransit monthly or annual subscription.

AddTransit is launching with a restricted BETA release, offering personalised one-on-one online support for each of the initial users.  “We invite companies to sign up for the BETA release on the website.  Each BETA user will be contacted, so that we can understand their individual needs and support them at every stage,” continues Neil. “It’s a new system and we want to ensure our customers have the best experience”.
