ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Feb. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Tamara Inzunza of RE/MAX Executives has recently assisted Rebuilding Together Alexandria with the purchase of another condominium home.

The home at 4 Canterbury Square, Unit 302 was a bank foreclosure offered publicly for sale, and was purchased for $166,000 by Rebuilding Together Alexandria.  RTA is a non-profit organization located in Old Town Alexandria.  They assist low- to moderate-income families by purchasing distressed properties, including short sales, foreclosures, and court ordered sales.  Once aquired, RTA rehabs the homes, and offers them for sale in cooperation with the Alexandria City Office of Housing with down payment assistance.

Rehabbing properties can include new kitchens, bathrooms, appliances, flooring, painting, and fixtures.  Rebuilding Together also performs inspections to ensure the properties are brought up to good condition, and some rehabs can include system replacements such as HVAC, water heaters, and sometimes roofs.

Once the properties are ready for occupancy, they are offered for sale to Alexandria City residents who qualify for down payment assistance.  Rebuilding Together Alexandria offeres homeownership education classes throughout the year, free of charge.  These classes are required for all home buyers who qualify for assistance.
