Platinum Songwriter, M’Jestie and Young Forever, Inc.'s Chris Anokute Announce 1st Song-a-Thon

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Feb. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Award-winning songwriter, Alisha “M’Jestie” Brooks and founder of Young Forever, Inc. Chris Anokute join forces to host their 1st International Song-a-Thon February 7 - 8..

Dubbed the #NoSleepProject, artists and producers will be challenged to create 24 songs in 24 hours. Their collection of compositions will be cataloged and submitted to personal contacts at major music labels for placements. With the support of their industry contacts, this community writing session will include: original songs, hooks, and track submissions.

Since their big break in 2005 with Rihanna's hit single Pon De Replay, collectively, M'Jestie and Anokute have landed more than a dozen hits on the Billboard charts. Now the two are on a quest to provide similar life altering opportunities to aspiring artists around the world, with limited connections to the music industry.

“This event challenges artists to dedicate a day to focus on their craft.  Most people have talent and no opportunity, so this is my way of giving back,” says M’Jestie.

In December and January, musicians traveled from across the country to participate in the 1st "MJSongathon”. Artists, of all ages, were locked in the studio to co-write and produce records with M'Jestie's guidance.

Registered participants at home will be able to connect with studio participants as well as each other through the #24songs24hours social media groups. A UStream feed will also be available to the public for live chat.
