Lifestyles’ Friends Gone Green Team Hosts Wendy’s Fundraiser on February 17

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Feb. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Lifestyles for the Disabled’s Friends Gone Green Vocational Program is hosting a benefit at Wendy's restaurant on Tuesday, Feb. 17 from 5 to 8 p.m. at 26 Richmond Hill Road. Wendy’s will donate 15% of sales for everyone who orders during the event to Lifestyles. As a double-benefit, the North Shore Rotary will match those funds.

“Our Gone Green program is dedicated to training challenged young adults in skills they need to earn money while helping keep Staten Island clean and green,” said Janice Katz, Friends Gone Green Vocational Program Coordinator. “It’s a time to come together to eat and have fun supporting Lifestyles for the Disabled.”

The dining area will be festooned with colorful recycled decorations. Participants will wear their Friends Gone Green tees designed by participant Richie Cefalu and printed by Lifestyles’ own Tee Styles Embroidery and Screen Printing shop. The Friends Gone Green team will sell hand-crafted bookmarks from recycled materials. Lifestyles for the Disabled originated in 1994 through collaboration among local business people, community organizations and program participants.  The mission of Lifestyles is to provide quality learning experiences that will enable all program participants, regardless of their present disabilities, to become productive members of society and live their lives with dignity and as independently as possible.
