Feb. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- St. Petersburg Injury Attorney Michael Babboni of the Shapiro Goldman Babboni and Walsh Law Firm's Central Avenue office commented on the city of Saint Petersburg's decision to make public awareness of the new pier design and development project a high priority.

As the past administration's attempt to redevelop the iconic St. Petersburg Pier ended mired in problems ranging from misinformation generated from outside groups, an unpopular design and claims that the plans could not be executed within the allotted budget, the new administration has taken action to make sure the latest effort to redevelop the Pier does not fall prey to the same problems.

Central to this new approach is the decision to bring a marketing and communications expert on board. Kristin Brett an 11-year veteran of the St. Petersburg Times was tapped to keep information sharing and public engagement high.

Longtime Saint Petersburg resident personal injury attorney Michael Babboni had this to say about the city's new strategy to redevelop the Pier,”Having worked with St. Petersburg residents for over 28 years I fully understand how much the St. Petersburg pier means to everyone who calls this city home. As a highly recognizable icon the Pier has been associated with St. Petersburg since it opened in 73. To see the first attempt to redesign the Pier have so many problems was disappointing for many. However the new approach is encouraging and I am looking forward to see how the new project unfolds.”

Michael Babboni also stated that the City of Saint Petersburg’s plans to keep the public informed and even ask for citizen input on the selection of the new pier design options should help eliminate the type of negative backlash the city endured after the Lens debacle.
