techJOYnT, a STEM education startup, launches a crowdfunding campaign to raise $50 000

techJOYnT wants to provide more scientific and technology activities to kids in Oklahoma and neighbor states .

OKLAHOMA CITY - Feb. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- techJOYnT announced today that it will be launching a crowdfunding campaign using the platform Kickstarter.com on February 11, 2015. The startup company is looking to raise $50 000 to be able to bring 12 new programs in 2015 to schools in the area. The goal of this campaign is to reach kids wherever they are; to bring STEM education to all students. STEM education stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math; and it is becoming increasingly important for future careers.

Each program that techJOYnT will offer schools lasts 8 weeks (16 hours) for up to 25 students. A program costs $4000, which makes a budget of $48 000 for the twelve programs, and adding the 5%  Kickstarter fee, the total budget is $50 000. If the campaign goal is reached, techJOYnT will be able to provide 192 hours of STEM classes to 300 students.

Company CEO Ray Shaik also expects to grow investor confidence and widen its customer base thanks to this crowdfunding campaign. When asked why the company decided to go with crowdfunding, Ray Shaik was quoted as saying “ as a social enterprise in the education field, we are looking to maximize our reach, which is why we are using crowdfunding, because small donations by a large number of people will help us provide STEM education to students that need it, no matter where they are.”

Crowdfunding enables people with a great business idea to ask the general public for the funding they need to set up or expand. The business sets a target for the money it wants to raise and explains how it will use the cash. People can then make pledges for small amounts of money in return for a reward if the target is reached.

The project can already be found on Prefundia, at http://prefundia.com/projects/view/stem-edcuation/3996/ and the crowdfunding page on Kickstarter will launch on February 11th, 2015.
