SMITHTOWN, N.Y. - Feb. 4, 2015 - PRLog -- (February 3rd, 2015)--In New York alone, an average of over 14,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.  Here on Long Island, an average of nearly 2,400 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year according to the New York State Department of Health. Today, there are more than 2.8 million breast cancer survivors in the United States alone.  After undergoing reconstructive breast surgery following a mastectomy, it is imperative that women receive the upmost care in maintaining their breast health. This includes ensuring that they are wearing properly sized and fitted bras, different ones every day, something that 64% of women are failing to do.

After much research, and a desire to help breast cancer survivors, Christine Guarino a dually certified mastectomy fitter through ABC and BOC, and local Long Islander, founded the company "A World of Pink".

Christine started the company to provide medical support products for all phases of breast surgery: reconstruction, reduction, and full of partial mastectomy. On January 23rd, 2015 Christine launched her line with the help of the doctors from Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Kneessy, Dr. Adler and Dr. Cocarro, as well as the Anita Corporation who came to her side, believed in her mission, and became her partner in supplying the highest quality, and most beautiful undergarments for each of these survivors.  Lindsay Ellingson, a well-known model, attended her launch and supported Christine by Tweeting to all her fans the inspiration “A World of Pink” will bring to all women.

“I am so happy about the way our launch party turned out. The doctors, friends and patients who filled the room assured me that I know we are headed for “big things”. My personal, professional atmosphere will create a place where patients who have undergone all phases of breast surgery can have their questions answered.” Said Christine when asked about the success of the event. She went on to explain how a World of Pink will change the way women feel about breast cancer recovery, stating; “This company is designed to help women understand and deal with the aftercare of breast cancer surgery, reconstruction, reduction and mastectomy surgeries, this will also educate women who have breast implants and augmentation on the importance of wearing the proper fitting and supportive bra!”

At this event Christine also spoke about how “A World of Pink” is more than just a launch of a lingerie line.  Items available include prostheses and support bras all phases of breast surgery. Christine and the doctors explained that due to advancements in technology and medical services that have been achieved over the last decade, women with all types of breast reconstruction deserve an educated fitter who provides a caring environment to implement a perfect fit for both bra and possible prosthetic choices for a lifetime of superior post-operative care. The company “A World of Pink” will expand women’s wellness by incorporating this line and giving physicians’ choices for post-operative breast after-care and supportive undergarments.

The launch event had over 75 people in attendance, all of who came together to learn about this new and evolutionary product that helps women who have endured mastectomies. Most of these women have dealt with the emotional crippling of losing a breast leaving them to feel insecure and uncomfortable.

“A World of Pink” allows women to feel whole again. At the event the doctors from Suffolk Plastic Surgeons, PC spoke about the advantage to their practice by supplying women with “A World of Pink” intimate apparel. Dr. Steve Maraboli was also a guest speaker at the event, who spoke about how Cancer affected his Mom and her appearance during her bout with cancer. His speech left not a dry eye in the room.

Christine closed with her speech saying; “No one should have to feel unbalanced, asymmetry is part of being a woman. I will change breast aftercare on Long Island; I will educate all women, and let them know just how beautiful they really are. A World Of Pink is here to supply a world of beauty, balance, and healing hearts. It is my life's mission to change the way cancer looks on women, and to supply all women young and old the proper fit for their breast, ensuring health and beauty” These words spoken by a true Long Island Hero, Christine Guarino, a woman as beautiful as the company she began and the mission they each represent.
