METUCHEN, N.J. - Feb. 3, 2015 - PRLog -- Today the To Be Continued…Book Boutique opened ticket sales for their first-ever Valentine’s Day Event to the public. “Romance in the Abstract” marries art, food and romance with an art exhibit, live music and a unique menu specially prepared by local Chef John Harkness.

“We’ve brought together elements of our most popular past events and added some client suggestions we have been eager to try.” said Sergio Gonzalez, who owns the bookstore (at the former Variety Village location) with his wife Karen Winters.

Valentine’s Day without the stereotypes and crowds
Edison resident and award winning photographer Mark Harris has been a fixture in Metuchen’s local art shows for years.  For this event he has been asked to feature his body abstract work and invited like minded artists such as photographer Robert Hopkins and several painters to show work as well. The end result is an exhibit of romantic and artistic interpretations of the human form.

Adding to the familiar faces are musician Lee Caplan, who has performed at the store before and Chef John Harkness. a classically trained French chef and former executive chef of several central NJ establishments such as Aglio and Café Abracci. The two were tasked with rounding out the evening and making it a true Valentine’s Day destination with food and entertainment.  Caplan’s trio, which includes soloist Anna Marie, will provide the musical backdrop to the aphrodisiac menu.  Harkness’ take on this will include oysters, crab mousse, fig tartlets and even a dash of molecular gastronomy in the smoked tenderloin with olive oil powder.

“While the store will be transformed into a lounge that couples, singles and groups can enjoy, we haven’t forgotten about the books,” added Winters “our most romantic and risqué titles from the Kama Sutra to 50 Shades of Gray will be readily displayed for review and purchase for those who may be interested.
