ABATE of Wisconsin Lowers Motorcycle Fatalities

Wisconsin had Fewest Motorcycle Fatalities in Almost 15 Years

Jan. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- ABATE of Wisconsin has been at the forefront of motorcycle issues in the state for over 40 years and regularly pushes initiatives that not only train motorcyclists but educate the general public regarding motorcycling and sharing the road. And with motorcycle operator fatalities in Wisconsin down by more than 15% last year, it's obvious that their efforts are paying off. There were only 74 motorcyclists killed in crashes last year which was the lowest number in almost 15 years.

ABATE of Wisconsin's "Safe Rider Program" is an award-winning, WIDOT and Motorcycle Safety Foundation Certified and Approved training series. It is designed to lower the fatality rate on our roads by training riders in the proper and prudent use of motorcycles. David Pabst, director of the WisDOT Bureau of Transportation Safety, stated that efforts to improve motorcycle safety through rider education and training "contributed to the drop in fatalities".

ABATE of Wisconsin believes that education and training are the best ways to prevent and thereby reduce motorcycle / automobile crashes. Educating the public in motorcycle awareness and sharing the road have been crucial components in lowering roadway fatalities. Through the use of classroom training, billboards, radio public service announcements as well as motorcycle awareness rallies, ABATE of Wisconsin reaches thousands of roadway users making them more aware of their responsibilities toward other vehicles on the road - with motorcycles in particular.

ABATE of Wisconsin, Inc. which was founded in 1974 is a motorcycle rights and safety organization dedicated to "Freedom of the Road." ABATE of Wisconsin's goal is to give the motorcyclists of Wisconsin a strong, united voice with regard to their future, their way of life, their safety, and their legal rights as motorcyclists and citizens.
