As with the gas engine, the diesel engine is operated by a seven-speed automatic transmission. At eight seconds, the acceleration time for the diesel engine is a little longer than the gas engine. The diesel engine features a barely noticeable turbo lag and is capable of exceeding its fuel economy rating. The interior of the GLK is worthy of the Mercedes name with the newly released mbrace2 connectivity suite, soft-touch controls, a Harman Kardon stereo system, Bluetooth integration, parallel parking assist and the Mercedes COMAND system.
