Coghill's ongoing daily sketch practice resulted in the summer of 2014 in a series of embroidered patch designs resembling park ranger emblems and featuring mythical hairy ape-men from around the globe, including Bigfoot, Sasquatch and the Yeti. A gut feeling, reinforced by fans and friends of the artist, led to the launch of the first Kickstarter campaign — "Bigfoot Patrol" — to make these embroidered patches a reality.

While the first "Bigfoot Patrol" campaign wasn't funded successfully due in strong part to an over-ambitious product offering, Coghill persevered and got the embroidered patches manufactured, along with a tongue-in-cheek membership card, a Bigfoot pin, and stickers. The overwhelmingly positive response confirmed the decision to run a followup crowdfunding campaign to make the next patch design into actual embroidered patches.

Learning from both the initial Kickstarter crowdfunding process and the actual manufacturing and shipping process to get the set of Bigfoot merchandise out to the supporters, Coghill launched the followup campaign, "Yeti Squad" on January 25, 2015. The campaign started off on the right foot, meeting 40% of the funding goal within 36 hours of launch, and over 70% of the funding goal within the first 4 days.

While the Bigfoot Patrol and Yeti Squad campaigns are definitely for fun, Coghill is serious about the product and merchandise focus of these fundraisers. Looking to offer more opportunities for fans of his art to own some for themselves, these Bigfoot and Yeti "membership kits" are a way to do just that, and get some real-world experience at the same time. Coghill will be releasing additional embroidered patch and membership kit merchandise in the future, with Cthulhu-themed art, as well as classic Halloween and horror-themed monster art and characters such as vampires, Frankenstein, werewolves, zombies and more.

Coghill plans to followup the Yeti Squad fundraiser with the Sasquatch: Special Unit merchandise set later this year. The artwork is currently being finalized while the Yeti Squad campaign is active.
