Ms. Word explains, “Many of us have family members who have life threatening food, medication and latex allergies (  Unfortunately some have so many allergies they live in a constant state of alert, always on watch ( to protect the fragility of life.  No matter how cautious we are there are times situations when sometimes things simply happen”.  The goal of the Love Remembers Day is to never forget and to always honor those lost while supporting the work of families who have lost someone and advocates who strive to end     food allergy deaths that might have been preventable.

Over 15 million Americans face the daily task of managing life threatening food allergies.  An estimated 1 in 13 children under the age of eighteen battle this invisible and potentially deadly disease.  Food allergies are on the rise and no one knows why.  The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention state that in children this disease has grown approximately 50% between 1997 and 2011.

Ms. Word and The Love Remembers Day planning committee encourage everyone becoming involved and to nominate those within the food allergy community who have lost someone to a food allergic reaction and right on and those who make a difference in advocating for food allergy awareness and change in their community.
