A Barbeque Revolution Is Coming To Singapore

On 23 February 2015, Stoke launches on kickstarter.com, a crowd-funding site, where you can pledge your support, and be one of the first people to try the newest sensation in home BBQ.

From East Coast Park to a private balcony in Sentosa, Singapore's vibrant BBQ culture is alive and kicking friends and family spending a laid-back evening indulging in food and drinks. Inspired by their love for BBQ, Chris and Ruth, the founders of Stoke, saw an opportunity to turn up the heat by bringing a taste of gourmet on to Singapore grills. Their vision is to share some of the rare flavours they've discovered in their travels with BBQ lovers in Singapore. With a small network of artisan and heritage producers, they’ve curated Stoke BBQ parcels; a feast for the modern city-dweller. For expats in Singapore, it’s like being reunited with the familiar tastes of home. For locals, it’s a culinary adventure without leaving the city. And for others, with our simple, no-marinade recipes, we hope to reignite their relationship with the BBQ pit.

Stoke BBQ parcels are made for 4, 8, 12 or more, and feature acorn-fed Spanish Pork Iberico, organic Australian lamb and beef, and award-winning 96% organic British pork sausages, as well as tasty appetisers like Iberico ham, giant stuffed olives, gourmet paté and Manchego cheese.

Co-founder, Chris.R.Vethaviyasar, shares:“BBQ dishes have always been tasty, but when have they ever been gourmet? At Stoke, we wish to usher in a completely new home BBQ experience -- one where every bite of natural, quality meat gives not only an explosion of taste, but a warm and fuzzy sense of wellbeing. We don’t call it soul food for nothing.” In April, Stoke will showcase their specialties and offer a simple grilling demonstration at an evening BBQ dinner.
