By: The BrainWare Company

CHICAGO - Jan. 29, 2015 - PRLog -- The BrainWare Company announced the opening of the application process for the BrainWare Brain Awareness Week Grants Program for 2015.  For a fourth consecutive year, The BrainWare Company is honoring Brain Awareness Week with opportunities for schools and individual teachers to engage in programs that can have a significant impact on the brains of their students.

Brain Awareness Week, sponsored by the Dana Foundation, will be observed the week of March 16-22, 2015.

To date, grants of cognitive development software licenses worth over $300,000 have been awarded to schools in the United States and Canada by the company in honor of Brain Awareness Week.  For 2015, grants will again be offered for BrainWare SAFARI cognitive skills development software and SkateKids cognitively based reading programs.  In addition, tuition-free participation in The BrainWare Company’s new online course, From Synapses to Strategies, introduced earlier this month, will be available for up to 15 individual teachers.

The grants program supports the purpose of Brain Awareness Week in promoting a broader understanding of the importance of brain research and its contribution to effective learning and cognitive development in schools.

“Brain research is changing our understanding of effective teaching and learning,” said Betsy Hill, President and Chief Operating Officer of The BrainWare Company. “It is explaining why great teachers are so effective and it is providing all educators with the tools and understanding to support and improve students’ capacity to learn, think critically and effectively, and apply what they learn.  The BrainWare Brain Awareness Week Grants Program is our way of contributing to broader awareness of the importance of brain research.”

The grant application process opens February 1, with a deadline of February 28. 2015.   Applications may be submitted online at
