NEW YORK - Jan. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- According to the Information Security Forum (http://www.securityforum.org/) (ISF), a global, independent information security body considered the world's leading authority on cyber security and information risk management,as supply chains become increasingly complex, and efficiency savings motivate companies to outsource business processes, service providers continue to be a primary vector for information security risks. Moving forward, organizations need to seriously think about the consequences of a supplier providing accidental, but harmful, access to their intellectual property, customer or employee information, commercial plans or negotiations.

Supply chains are a vital component of every organization’s global business operations and the backbone of today’s global economy. However, security chiefs everywhere are growing more concerned about how open they are to numerous risk factors. Many suppliers are small and do not have the resources to adequately implement widely-accepted information security standards. This is important because a range of valuable and sensitive information is often shared with suppliers, and when that information is shared, direct control is lost. This leads to an increased risk of its confidentiality, integrity or availability being compromised.

During this webcast, Steve Durbin (https://www.linkedin.com/in/stevedurbin), Managing Director of the ISF, will offer solutions to some of these challenges and discuss the issue of more widespread education and communication of threats. He will also explain how they might be better managed throughout the global supply chain.

Please register via this link (https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/9923/140619) for the free webcast which takes place on Wednesday, February 4 at 9 a.m. (ET). A recording will be available following the conclusion of the event.
