Jan. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- The Florida Region will host a Regional Championship that will award bids to the Volley America Nationals, held on Oct 24-25 in Clearwater Beach, FL.  Florida Regionals will be held on Oct. 3-4 by Sandbox at Cocoa Beach International Palms.  Winners of the Men’s and Women’s Open, AA, and A divisions at the Florida Regionals will win entry fee and a 2-night-stay in the host hotel for nationals.

Local Florida organizations will award bids to the Florida Regionals at their regularly schedule events.  The groups awarding bids include First Coast Volleyball Association in Jacksonville, Sandbox VB in Cocoa Beach, Ocala Beach Volleyball, and Rockstar Promotions in St. Petersburg.

The $30,000 Volley America Beach Grand Prix awards the top 15 players of each division (Men & Women Open, AA, A, B and Coed AA, A & B) cash prizes at the end of the calendar year based on final rankings.  Players have the opportunity to win Grand Prix points throughout the year at all Volley America tournaments.  Points are based on a player’s tournament results.  Every tournament awards points, and they are cumulative.  The more events you play in, the more points you earn!  Details are online at http://www.volleyamerica.com/custom.aspx?id=2.  The current Grand Prix Standings can also be found online at http://www.volleyamerica.com/VA-Beach-Volleyball-GrandPrix-Rankings.aspx.

All tournaments will be played with the Spalding Beach Volleyball.  Players compete for a chance to win merchandise prizes from tournament sponsors 4C Totally Light 2Go, Spalding, Rider Sandals, Reflekt Polarized, Sprout Watches, ZEMgear Sports Authority, Bally’s Casino, Park & Sun net systems, Dig Magazine, Horry County, Spike Key Beach, Red Roof Inns and South Shore Outdoors.

Volley America would also like to announce a new partnership with CORA Health Services.  CORA is a rehabilitation and sports medicine company with multiple locations throughout Florida.  CORA has provided sports medicine coverage for several volleyball organizations and events, including the AVP tournament in St. Petersburg in 2013 and 2014.  Their team of highly trained staff will be present at Volley America tournaments to assist athletes with both acute injuries and chronic issues to ensure that players are able to compete at top performance.

Volley America and all of our Florida organizations are working together to bring players the best, coordinated program available.  With a national ranking system, local tournaments feeding into Regionals, feeding into the Volley America Nationals in Clearwater Beach, with travel reimbursements for bid winners, with better prizes and a Grand Prix program, Volley America sanctioned events will be the most popular events in Florida this coming 2015 summer season.

The complete Florida schedule is available online at www.volleyamerica.com. Click on the Florida link at the bottom left hand side of the page to see every Volley America sanctioned tournament in Florida.
