Hall of Fame Bullfighter Brings Anti Bullying Program to New Mexico Schools

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Jan. 26, 2015 - PRLog -- MEDIA ALERT - Former Bullfighter Gary “Roach” Hedeman, and his pet bucking bull Bill, will be in town visiting a local elementary school Tuesday, January 27, spreading the message that “bullying” is not acceptable behavior.

“Bill is No Bully is a great tool to communicate with kids while at the same time increasing awareness about bullying in schools,” said Hedeman.

Hedeman who was born in Raton, New Mexico created the program with his wife Cindy, who wrote and animated the children’s book.

Bill is No Bully is a story about a bull that doesn’t fit in. The other bulls in the pasture, famous bucking bulls, encourage Bill to be mean. When Bill takes a different path he is met with resistance. The book, written and illustrated by Hedeman’s wife Cindy, is part of an anti-bullying presentation that makes use of a live bull to interact with the students. Students at Carrassas Elementary will receive a copy of the book as well as participate in a coloring contest.

The students at Corrales Elementary School will meet the real “Bill” and hear his message via hall of fame bullfighter, Roach Hedeman, brother of four time World Champion bull rider Tuff Hedeman who is in town this week producing the Rodeo Construction Bucking On the Rio Grande taking place in Rio Rancho at the Santa Ana Center on Saturday, January 31^st.

Hedeman, who was born in Raton, New Mexico, now resides in Bowie, Texas and is self employed.

Students at Corrales Elementary School, 200 Target Road in Corrales, New Mexico, will host three presentations of Bill is No Bully on Tuesday at 10:30, 1:30, and 2:30.
