Jan. 20, 2015 - PRLog -- Earlier this month, CTC Aviation announced that Flybe would be employing a number of CTC WINGS Integrated ATPL, or “whitetail”, Route graduate pilots.  Now, CTC Aviation has been chosen by Flybe as one of its preferred training partners for the launch of its new MPL intake.

This latest move will give an initial 6 trainee pilots the opportunity to complete a part-sponsored CTC WINGS MPL training programme on the Dash-8 Q400, with Flybe contributing £23,760 (including VAT) towards the cost of training.  The successful applicants will also benefit from CTC Aviation’s unique “Performance Protection” package whereby CTC Aviation covers the costs of all additional training and aircraft for any re-testing to achieve competence.  Furthermore, CTC Aviation’s “Performance Protection” also provides a refund of any monies deposited by the trainee pilot should they cease training due to their skills falling below the minimum required professional pilot licence standard.

Martin Hunt, Chief Operating Officer, Ab initio Training (Europe) for CTC Aviation is responsible for the delivery of CTC Aviation’s Airline Transport Pilot’s Licence (ATPL) and MPL programmes - “Flybe has an excellent reputation for enabling aspiring pilots to achieve their career goals by providing financial support to assist with training costs and making this programme more accessible to a much wider, diverse audience. They are also renowned for establishing a defined career path for the right applicant:  This opportunity is not just about becoming a First Officer or Co-pilot.  It is about becoming tomorrow’s Flybe Captains and Flight Operations Managers and we’re delighted to be playing such a significant role within it.”

The application window will be open from Tuesday 20January until Tuesday 4 February 2015.  Initial screening and assessments will be carried out by the CTC Aviation selection team – the first events are scheduled to take place during the week commencing 9 February 2015.  Those short listed will attend a final interview with Flybe which is likely to take place in March at the airline’s headquarters in Exeter, Devon (UK).  Those selected by Flybe will commence training in June 2015 and training is planned to take place at CTC Aviation’s Crew Training Centres in the United Kingdom and the company’s newest facilities in Phoenix, Arizona (USA).  The final, advanced airline type specific Dash-8 Q400 training and Initial Operating Experience (IOE) will take place with Flybe.  Trainees will also have the option of incorporating CTC Aviation’s exclusive BSc (Hons) Degree in Professional Aviation Pilot Practice into their training.

Captain Ian Baston, Director of Flight Operations for Flybe has been impressed by the standard of CTC WINGS graduate pilots already flying with Flybe – “The most recent group of 6 new CTC WINGS pilots who graduated in December 2014 have all qualified on line and completed their first simulator check. They are a credit to the CTC Aviation training team and I am delighted to be announcing yet another intake – this time following the MPL syllabus - and further strengthening the partnership that we have forged with CTC Aviation in recent years.”

Those interested in this new CTC WINGS MPL Route in partnership with Flybe, are invited to apply on line – ctcaviation.com/flybe during the application window 20 January – 4February 2015.

CTC Aviation is hosting their first careers event of 2015 on 31st January and the guest speaker – as announced earlier this month - will be Captain James Smart, Head of Crew Training for Flybe.   Attending the event will enable people to learn more about the programme and prepare for the selection process.  The event is only open to those who have pre-registered through CTC Aviation’s website ctcaviation.com/wings
