SANDUSKY, Ohio - Jan. 19, 2015 - PRLog -- Live on Put-in-Bay for a day.  Easily accessible via a 22-minute ride on the Miller Ferry (http://www.millerferry.com) this Caribbean style Lake Erie island feels worlds away.  Kayak through limestone cliffs, dine on the beautiful waterfront or spy on Canada from 352 feet atop Perry’s International Peace Memorial.

Abandon your fears at one of the scariest events in the country, the Lake Erie Fear Fest.  A combination of five frightening haunts in one location, the Ghostly Manor Thrill Center is the epicenter for Halloween in Ohio.

Kiss a camel.  Okay maybe not, but you can get very close to all sorts of unique animals at the African Safari Wildlife Park.  Drive-thru with your vehicle or walk-thru on foot.

Enjoy a glass of wine.  California’s not the only state where the vines shine.  The Lake Erie Shores & Islands Wine Trail has over 40,000 acres of glorious vineyards.

Explore a cave, marvel at 18,000 year old glacial grooves.  Put-in-Bay has the world’s largest geode while Kelleys Island has the world’s best example of glacial scoured bedrock.  Both good reasons to hop on a ferry boat.

Ride the Rougarou.  Cedar Point has transformed a stand-up roller coaster into a floor-less beast that lurks through foggy marsh of the park, so closing your eyes won't work on this new monster.

Imagine you’re in the 1920’s.  When it comes to old school libations, the Volstead Bar is the talk of the town.  Not only do the drinks taste good, but come with a mesmerizing display of craft cocktail creation.

Earn the respect of your peers.  Learning about history is undoubtedly cool and whether it’s rattling off statistics that you learned at the Merry-Go-Round Museum or showing off your pilot chops from the Liberty Aviation Museum, your friends will certainly be impressed.

Surf a Great Lake.  Getting ahold of a surf board can be tough and so can the timing, but it’s worth it to become part of the only handful of people who’ve done it.

Have some chocolate.  Tres Sorelle is steadily becoming one of the best Ohio-based chocolatiers.  Go see what every chocolaholic has been beaming about.

Open the doors.  Newly renovated for 2015, Cedar Point’s Hotel Breakers will be the premiere waterfront lodging location for roller coaster fanatics.

Ring in the New Year by dropping a fish.  It’s never to early to start planning for Port Clinton’s 2015 Walleye Drop where they literally celebrate by dropping a fish.

Eat inside an old bank vault.  Unfortunately there’s no extra money laying around, but there is phenomenal fare, a huge wine list and craft beer at the super cozy Wine Vault.

Stroll a state park.  Renowned for their lush natural beauty and activities like bird watching, places like Sheldon’s Marsh and Magee Marsh show visitors the best Mother Nature can offer.

Identify
butterflies.  The Butterfly Museum on Put-in-Bay is not only a learning affair, but surrounding yourself in fluttering butterflies is simply a magnificently beautiful experience.

Shipwreck dive.  Lake Erie is famous for its shipwrecks.  The 1890 built propeller steamer named the "Prince" still resides on the lake floor where you can check it out with a dive tour from New Wave Scuba.

Listen to some music.  The recently debuted Listening Room in Port Clinton, the North Coast’s #1 music venue, features some of the best singer songwriters across the United States.

Ascend a water slide.  What goes up, must come down.  With Kalahari, Great Wolf Lodge, Maui Sands, Castaway Bay and Soak City at the ready, Sandusky is without a doubt one of the country’s premiere water park destinations.

Nap on a beach.  While Ohio may not be well known for its beaches, there’s a few that are downright gorgeous.  Nickelplate Beach in Huron, Cedar Point Beach and the Barrier Beach at Sheldon’s Marsh just to name a few.

Drive your car on an airport runway.  Put-in-Bay’s Road Race Reunion gives anyone who’s ever wanted to be a race car driver a chance to do just that.

Soar like an eagle.  Whether it’s canopy zip lining at Sawmill Creek Lodge or parasailing 600 feet above the shores of Lake Erie at North Coast Parasail, being scared of heights in not an option.
