Follow on Google News | Donations Kick Off New Year For Triunfo YMCA & Westlake Village ParkNew donors are coming forward to help make the 18-acre Westlake Village Regional Family Park and Triunfo YMCA a reality.
By: Triunfo YMCA The trailhead for the mile-long-hiking trail that surrounds the park will be named after the Brad and Susan Armstrong family of Westlake Village. “Brand and Susan’s family have long demonstrated a love and appreciation of healthy living and fitness,” says Ronnie Stone, Triunfo Y’s executive director. “Susan has served as sports trainer at Oaks Christian for many years. Their donation makes possible the walking path that will be used by thousands of people each year in their quest to lead healthier lives.” Other naming donors include the Conejo Valley Veterinary Hospital (pet sanitation stations along the walking path) and the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff's Association (the pathway’s fitness stations). Donations to offset the $50,000 construction cost of the wishing wellness welcome entry are completed with additional project funding coming from Bill and Anya Morton of Calabasas and Dr. David Diehl of Maximized LIFE Chiropractic. Previous donors to the entry construction are Rosemary Allison, Coldwell Banker's estate director, Colonel Jerry and Mary Knotts, YMCA board member, Jordan and Sherry Lippell, the Medders family and the Weidenweber Family Fund of the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation. "The front entrance concept envisioned by our funding and event consultant Mardy Medders is to welcome and highlight the Triunfo YMCA and park as an intergenerational, inclusive learning and fitness center to be enjoyed by our entire regional community,” says Stone. “I am delighted to have the Mortons from Calabasas, the Lippells and Knotts of Thousand Oaks and the Medders and Dr. Diehl representing Westlake Village contributing to this important part of the project. And, Rosemary Allison's generous philanthropy for all our regional communities is always deeply appreciated."
