Follow on Google News | Timberline Adventures Responds to Growing Demand for Custom Bicycle ToursThe 33-year old bike and hike tour operator is organizing a bike tour of Puget Sounds’ San Juan Islands for Principia College’s Alumni Association. Another client has requested a one-of-a-kind bicycling itinerary in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The company will also be running a custom bike tour along the fabled Natchez Trace, a centuries-old trail that has been converted to a parkway spanning from Nashville, TN to Natchez, MS. “Bike clubs especially are figuring out that working with a professional tour operator saves a lot of headaches,” says Co-Owner David Harris. “A group tour is a complicated animal. Things go a lot more smoothly when they leave all the little details to us, rather than relying purely on volunteers.” Demand is also growing for custom hiking and multi-sport tours. This year Timberline Adventures will be hosting a private hiking tour in Death Valley, as well as a custom trip in the Grand Canyon for a group that will be hiking, biking, and rafting. “Once people discover the possibilities they get hooked,” says Co-Owner Kisa Harris. “We have some folks who use our custom tours for family reunions year after year.” Custom tours developed by Timberline Adventures include inn accommodations, most meals, guides, maps, narratives, and a support van. Bike tours also include detailed cue-sheets and bike rentals are available. Custom shirts or bike jerseys can also be designed as a memento for tour participants.
