Karen Gabler to Discuss New Employment Laws for 2015 – January 16

PASO ROBLES, Calif. - Jan. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- Karen Gabler, employment law attorney at LightGabler LLP, will discuss new employment laws for 2015 at the January 16 San Luis Obispo Employer Advisory Council (EAC)/Employment Development Department meeting at the Paso Robles Inn (1103 Spring Street, Paso Robles). The half-day seminar, “Should Auld Employment Laws Be Forgot?” will be from 8:00 a.m. to noon. Breakfast and check in will begin at 8:00 a.m. with the presentation beginning at 8:25 a.m.

         Gabler will review the new employment laws for 2015 as well as provide tips arising out of cases and administrative matters decided in 2014. Topics include mandatory paid sick time, minimum wage increases, new prohibitions regarding discrimination against undocumented workers, critical new rules re arbitration to avoid class actions, supervisory training requirements to prevent abusive conduct, new protected categories including unpaid interns and volunteers and arbitration prohibitions for civil rights claims.
