Lakewood Ranch's Newest Community, Harmony from Mattamy Homes

A new development of 657 affordable homes and townhomes in Lakewood Ranch, Harmony is the latest project from builder Mattamy Homes. Located next to the Neal Community of Central Park, this new neighborhood will offer single family homes and townhome/villas with a variety of exterior elevations and floor plans. There are seven different floor plans to choose from, all with options such as a second floor loft  & bedroom combination. The townhomes and villas are built into combined buildings, well laid out with townhomes in the center and the more spacious villas on each end. Priced attractively from in the high $100Ks, these units range in size from 1,515 to a spacious 1,936 square feet. Available lots include lake, preserve or berm views.

A notable feature that makes Harmony different from the competition is that every home is built to meet the Florida Green Building Coalition's Green Home Standard which is something not found very often at this price point. This community also offers exclusive amenities including neighborhood parks and bike trails, a clubhouse with fitness center and a lap pool and a tot lot. In addition, each home in the community is maintenance free making it a perfect  solution for those snowbirds who love to come to Florida but hate to worry about their home after they travel back to the north.

I took a site tour on Wednesday, January 6th with Project manager Steve Kierecki and New Home Specialist Anne Creus to get an idea of the layout, lots and feel for this new community. Work is progressing on schedule according to Anne and there are currently two single family homes nearing completion. Across the winding street the townhomes and villas are well under way. The grand opening is planned for sometime in early February (details to follow). I got the opportunity to peek into the model home center where Steve says Mattamy has pulled out all the stops to make this a soothing and beautiful environment to shop for your new home. The clubhouse is also nearly complete, on the day I visited crews were hard at work putting down the floor in the large fitness center. To the rear of the clubhouse is the pool, and while it's still under construction, it was easy to see the lap pool on one end and the resort pool on the other.

Mattamy Homes, holds the distinction of being the largest home builder in Canada, and one of the largest privately owned home builders in the US. Though Mattamy has built a solid reputation in the Florida cities of Jacksonville and Orlando, Harmony will be their first community in Southwest Florida. Mattamy oversees every step in the process of building a new neighborhood, including acquiring the land, designing and implementing the floor plans and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. It seems they have certainly picked the right place in Lakewood Ranch to build this affordable community.
