How Two South Florida Women Are Providing Compassionate Care to Those Battling Substance Abuse

Pathway 2 Recovery DBA Kosher Sobriety is grand opening in Boca Raton providing the "three elements" to lasting recovery - the healing of mind, body and spirit.

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Jan. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- Boca Raton, FL, January 2, 2015 -- The majority of substance abuse treatment centers around the country are owned and operated by men.  While some offer quality care and effective intervention, others are being run by rapacious operators, often under serving the recovering population they were entrusted to serve.  The substance abuse treatment industry is in need of a solution that will work, particularly in light of the drug and alcohol epidemic prevailing in America today.  Pathway 2 Recovery, DBA Kosher Sobriety was created by two caring mothers and women entrepreneurs to change the way we care for those in recovery.

Utilizing a holistic approach to intervention, our treatment programs are infused with Torah values and guiding spirituality.  Our core curriculum addresses the critical faculties ("three elements") of the recovering addict. All three elements are given equal emphasis.  By treating the client's physiological, emotional and spiritual needs, the person's desire for "external stimuli" is eliminated. The person begins anew on his way to a healthy and meaningful life.  Our goal is to ensure that our clients achieve "eternal sobriety" thereby enabling a happy re-integration with family, the work place, and society.

The founders of Kosher Sobriety share a single mission - to create a haven for all seeking recovery from substance abuse, regardless of religious and other differences. "The Talmud teaches that if we can but save one person - one soul, it is as if we've saved the world entire," said Rachel Lam, co-Managing Partner. "Our goal is to reach out to every Jewish and gentile soul alike, to let them know that they are not alone.  And more importantly, to tell them that they are loved while they are struggling with the horrible disease of addiction." Elizabeth Bowman, co-Managing Partner, stated that "treatment facilities must go the extra mile to show that we genuinely care about those in recovery." Ms. Bowman points out that it isn't out of the norm to find her and her husband picking up strangers 2 A.M. at a bus stop in South Florida.  "These people, many of them just kids, really have no place to go.  We are often their last destination."
