Follow on Google News | MOTERWRITER.COM reviews the latest hit book – Whatever Happened to the Zodiac Killer?Author Katherin B. FitzPatrick’s book will challenge your long held views about the Zodiac Killer
The author narrates a story based around supposed true events in which the evil of the Zodiac Killer didn’t fade away with the destruction of its host body and continued to torment people who knew the truth behind it. One of the most startling incidents described in the book is in the foreword when author describes how she came into contact with Sharon, one of few persons who had a direct contact with the Zodiac Killerand who eventually became a part of the book as one of the characters who actually met the Zodiac Killer right after he had attacked her close friends. “I don’t want to scare you girls,” the Officer said, “But he told you things that that the Zodiac has only said in sealed letters to the police.” It identified him as clearly as a fingerprint they concluded. They showed Sharon the 1969 Wanted Poster with the composite sketch. The right side is the best likeness of the face. She agreed that it looked like him. Both Sharon and the author, FitzPatrick, have talked at great length about the face, build and demeanour of the Zodiac. They are quite sure they both saw the same man, Sharon in the fall of 1969, and FitzPatrick in the fall of 1978, nine years later. “The difference was that Sharon said that the man she saw had dark auburn hair. This is not a common hair colour for a man, but is a common colour for the dye bottle,” Fitzpatrick points out. “We think he took the dye bottle to his hair to throw off any potential witnesses and the police authorities. The description of the Zodiac killer that was circulating around at that time in the fall of 1969 was that of a medium build 45 year old man with large glasses, and blond hair. Why wouldn’t he think of dyeing his hair? During the attack on Bryan Hartnell and Cecelia Shepard he seemed to deliberately make sure the auburn hair showed around the eye holes of his hooded costume. Hartnell mentioned this hair colour later on. (Bingo!) He wore his large glasses behind the hood during this attack as well,” FitzPatrick commented.
