BATON ROUGE, La. - Jan. 1, 2015 - PRLog -- Wendy Duhe Woods has been writing stories since elementary school. Two years ago, she decided to make that dream a reality. Working hand in hand with Mascot Books, Wendy and her husband's aunt, Sherry Martin (illustrator), began creating the loveable charcater of Indigeaux in the first adventure: Welcome Home, Indigeaux. The first book was a nominated title for the Louisiana Reader's Choice Award for 2014! But, Wendy always wanted to publish novels for adults, so in the summer of 2014, she put pen to paper and wrote her first Christian fiction novel, As Time Goes By, published by CrossLink Publishing.

The obsession with writing didn't end with just two books. In October 2014, just one month before her Christian fiction was released, Woods brought forth another fun adventure with Indigeaux, the Australian Shepherd, called Yo-Heaux, Indigeaux: A Louisiana Pirate Adventure.

Woods is currently working on the next book in her Chrisitian fiction collection. This next novel picks up with characters from the first book, As Time Goes By. Expected release is 2015!

Fans of Indigeaux will also be excited to know that a Christmas adventure is under contract for 2015 as well! Indigeaux's fan base is international, with books in Australia, Switzerland, Canada, Mexico, and beyond!

I bought two of these books for my grandchildren and they love it. I know the author and illustrator personally, having taught with them both. They are wonderful ladies who have a real love for children and a real love for teaching. The story about Indigeaux is developed wonderfully and keeps the interest of the reader. The illustrations are colorful and beautiful. You won't regret purchasing this book for your child. It would make a wonderful Christmas or birthday present. As a retired school librarian, I know that your child's school's library would love to have a copy. This book is an Accelerated Reader book, so if your school participates in AR, this book would be appreciated even more. All in all, you can't go wrong purchasing this book. I can't wait for more books about the adventures of Indigeaux.

Our kids received this book for Christmas. It's a great book and allowed me to share parts of Louisiana I enjoy with them since we live in Montana now. Look forward to purchasing more from this author.
