Community Bank of Santa Maria Announces Expansion Plans

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Dec. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Community Bank of Santa Maria has announced the purchase of the building at 2739 Santa Maria Way in Santa Maria.  This new location will become the bank’s headquarters in 2015, as well as its fourth full-service branch. The 22,600 square-foot building has a history as a bank building, starting with Bank of Santa Maria in 1982.

All three of Community Bank of Santa Maria’s senior executive officers previously worked in the building. Community Bank of Santa Maria Chairman Emeritus and existing Board member, William A. Hares, together with the late AJ Diani, then Chairman of the Board of Bank of Santa Maria, designed and built the building as Bank of Santa Maria’s headquarters in 1982. Community Bank of Santa Maria Chairman of the Board, James D. Glines, and President/Chief Executive Officer Janet Silveria, spent much of their careers with Bank of Santa Maria working in the building. “It feels like coming home” stated Glines.

Pending regulatory approval, the new branch is expected to open in the summer months of 2015. Community Bank of Santa Maria’s administrative staff, including Hares, Glines and Silveria, will also move to the new building. Although this is a consolidation of administration, it is a new branch expansion. Silveria confirmed “this will be a new full-service branch, expanding our foot print in Santa Maria, and providing greater opportunity to serve our community.”

Community Bank of Santa Maria opened for business on March 1, 2001 and presently has three branch locations:  South Broadway, Oak Knolls, and Lompoc Community Bank, a division of Community Bank of Santa Maria.
