Allegheny Health Network selects Digisonics OB/GYN PACS & Structured Reporting enterprise solution

HOUSTON - Dec. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Digisonics, a leading provider of OB/GYN PACS and Structured Reporting Systems, today announced that Allegheny Health Network (AHN) in Pittsburgh, Pa. has selected the Digisonics system for integrated image review and structured reporting of their OB/GYN ultrasound studies. The Digisonics system will be implemented at 11 facilities within AHN’s network, enabling their clinicians to quickly review study images, perform fetal growth analysis, and create OB/GYN structured reports. A web-based add on allows users to remotely access the Digisonics OB/GYN PACS and Structured Reporting Solution from anywhere at anytime, adding flexibility to their workflow.

An interface with Philips QLAB will provide clinicians with access to 3D/4D image manipulation and analysis.  A single click on the Digisonics OB/GYN PACS and Structured Reporting System workstation launches the Philips QLAB software directly for analysis, with the post processed images stored back into the Digisonics system or other PACS systems for further review or long-term archiving.

Allegheny Health Network’s system will be enhanced with the Digisonics OBSearch Package, a comprehensive, user-configurable search engine. This powerful tool enables users to quickly set up search criteria to extract clinical information from their OB/GYN PACS and Structured Reporting System as well as compile statistics required for maintaining accreditation status. Search criteria can be based on any field or combination of fields within the report, including referring or interpreting physician, patient demographics, measurements, and clinical comments. Search parameters can be combined in logical strings for simple or complex searches.

OBLink interfaces will streamline connectivity between the Digisonics OB/GYN ultrasound structured reporting system and the hospital’s ultrasound machines.  Patient demographics and measurements will be autopopulated directly into the Digisonics OB/GYN ultrasound structured report, saving valuable data entry time and eliminating possible input errors. HL7 interfaces for Orders In, Results Out and Billing between the hospital’s EPIC EMR and the Digisonics OB/GYN structured reporting system will facilitate a fully electronic workflow. A DigiLink add-on to the HL7 Results Out interface provides their clinicians with access to PDFs of the finalized OB/GYN reports within their EMR. Digisonics DigiServ, a multi-site server, will provide storage and communication management for the enterprise-wide system. As a result of the seamless integration between Digisonics and the incumbent systems, Allegheny Health Network will benefit from an efficient OB/GYN structured reporting workflow with improved turnaround times and overall accuracy.
