Walgreens Supports the 5th Anniversary of AIDS Walk South Dallas

DALLAS - Dec. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Dallas, TX. December 30, 2014 – Walgreens is a proud sponsor of AIDS Walk South Dallas for the 5^th year in a row! Throughout the month of January 2015, help AIDS Walk South Dallas reach our $50K goal by donating $1, $5 or $10, supporting the scannable campaign as you checkout at twelve local Walgreens in the Dallas area.  This year's theme of AIDS Walk South Dallas, "Celebrating 5 Years of Creating Change and Impacting Lives" extends the mission which is to inspire, educate and galvanize the community of South Dallas and surrounding areas to continue to curb the spread of HIV/AIDS and assist those impacted. “This partnership with Walgreens for the last 5 years has really shown their commitment to; not only the Southern Dallas community but their true passion to affect the lives of people impacted by HIV/AIDS”, said Auntjuan Wiley, the AWSD Founder and Chair. “As the leading retail pharmacy, we are excited about their continued support of AIDS Walk South Dallas and our efforts to bring change to this community”.

AIDS Walk South Dallas, held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at St. Philip’s School and Community Center, is an annual fundraiser supported by C.U.R.E. Community Unity Respect Education, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2007 by Rosemarie Odom and Roseann Rossetti whose mission is to combat the continuing risks and stigma associated with HIV/AIDS. AIDS Walk South Dallas will offer a variety of groups, nonprofits and businesses; like Walgreens, an amazing opportunity to make a difference and get your message out to the people that live and work in the Dallas area and abroad that are infected or impacted by HIV/AIDS.  In our 4^th year, we raised over $25,000 benefitting local organizations that provide services to people impacted by HIV/AIDS. “We met our goal in 2014 and hope to surpass it with $50,000 in 2015. With a continuous increase of new HIV infections in Dallas, but less resources available, we know that organizations depend on us to make a difference as much as we can, said Auntjuan Wiley, AWSD Founder and Chair.”
