Growing geographies The global WTE market is segmented into four major geographies - North America, Europe, Asia, and Rest of Asia (RoA). In 2014, the market is dominated by Europe with more than 40% share. North America is the fastest growing market. Currently most of the plastic waste produced in North America is exported to China. However, due to the new regulations imposed by the Chinese government, North America has to dispose its waste at its local facilities.
