MOBILE, Ala. - Dec. 19, 2014 - PRLog -- Grand Bay, AL. Children from the Gulf Coast region will be taken back in time of the movie, “Frozen”, on Saturday, December 20 as Tri-Coastal Community Outreach hosts their 9th Annual “On Wings of Dove” children’s Christmas shopping experience at the Bayou la Batre Church of God, 11960 Argyle Rd. in Irvington, AL from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

This year, theatrical drama and music will provide entertainment for over 400 children and their families who come to ‘shop’ for gifts and toys.Holiday music will be provided by Daniel Driskell from the Full Scale School of Music from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Amidst snow covered real pine trees from the tundra, families will watch the movie “Frozen.”  Students from Alma Bryant High School Drama and Theater Department will bring  characters Elsa, Anna and Olaf alive to the audience.

“This is a time that makes the Christmas holiday a true time of giving and sharing when over 400 specially selected Gulf Coast children spend time with Santa’s elves and shops for his or her Christmas presents”, said Carolyn Thompson, executive director.
Thompson said that “If we can offer a small amount of hope for children, then we have given some hope to the family.”The program is unique in that each child, even toddlers, are given Santa dollars to do their own shopping in the “secret shopping area” without their parents.

“We want to begin financial literacy at an early age. If we can help teach children that there is a cost to those items that they expect parents to magically purchase; then I feel that we’re doing our job as a community outreach. We have to start preparing our next generations about being fiscally responsible. Children go through check-out lines just as we do,” said Thompson.
