Write a Resume that will get you noticed and Hired

With an enormous crowd of qualified talent around us and loads of applicants applying for a job vacancy, How can you make sure your resume gets noticed?

WOERDEN, Netherlands - Dec. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Here are some tips that will get your resume noticed.

1) Think of your resume as YOUR PROFESSIONAL MARKETING TOOL :The employer is selling you a JOB offer and there are many like you who would like to be there. But it is up to you to make your resume appealing enough, that they give you an interview call. This is your place to advertise your skills accomplishments and showcase awards if any. Consider it rightfully as " YOUR PROFESSIONAL MARKETING TOOL". So, one need not be modest with one's CV.

2) Highlight on your accomplishments : If you are straight out of college/university, you can mention about your internship, even better if it is at a well-known company. You’ll probably want to point to the company name rather than your position title.Highlight activities that you did, which had a lasting impact for your company /client. Mind you, accomplishments are different from your duties and is usually original. It can be anything, big or small.

3)Mention your roles and responsibilities towards the success of a project if any: Use facts and figures to include in the position description .Mention the budget size, the number of direct/indirect reports, the number of divisions or branches you managed, sales/revenue objectives, number of clients, local, national or regional offices, and the title of your immediate boss..This will give recruiters an idea of your managerial capabilities as well.

4)Highlight your personal skills :Well, No one wants a qualified, but an ill mannered colleague, Do we?Therefore take some time to mention about your team building skills, interpersonal skills, because it certainly plays a very important role and the recruiters certainly pick on this one.

5)Recommendations and Certifications go a long way: You demonstrate your skills through strong, high-impact achievement statements, still sometimes recruiters will have a hard time believing you. Therefore , in such cases a recommendation or a certificate will always have that added value. From my own personal experience I can tell I landed my previous job, only because they saw a certificate which was awarded by a reputed MNC for high sales, during a particular month .

6) Visually Appealing : Choose a font that looks professional and make sure your skills are seen, not tucked away somewhere in a corner. Keep your name and contact information at the top, make your section headings bold, underline, or use caps text, and have your achievements written out as bulleted statements.

7) Its Okay if your resume is long: Don't worry about the length, you can't put what you have achieved in 10 years in 1 page. There is no hard and fast rule about the length. Make you have included all the above mentioned information along with education details, resident status/ work permit and some personal information .
