BOSTON - Dec. 16, 2014 - PRLog -- Boston, MA (December 16, 2014) – Beat Your Mark, one of the world’s largest databases connecting triathletes, marathon runners and various multi-discipline sport athletes over an innovative, social media based e-commerce platform, is proud to announce the launch of its international headquarters in Boston, MA, in conjunction with the acquisition of a first-of-a-kind, difficulty ratings patent for various multi-stage sport courses.

Beat Your Mark enables users to create individual profiles and search for race information and results from its database of more than 14,000 races and 15,000,000 data points (race results) worldwide. Beat Your Mark also allows its members to track personal scores and training, share training schedules and tips, set goals, search for the latest gear and now allows users to predict performance on upcoming competitions with its difficulty ratings capabilities.

“The triathlon and endurance sport community in North America has exploded in recent years, and we look to provide a single platform for the entire group to engage with one another and improve as athletes,” said Beat Your Mark CEO, Bruce Basheer. “Boston is the perfect city to launch our international operations with its amazing marathon presence, rapidly growing triathlon and racing community and excitement around the potential for a 2024 Summer Olympic bid.”

Beat Your Mark acquired its difficulty ratings patent by allowing individual users to maintain personal performance statistics, and in turn, collectively compare scores from each individual user to determine and update difficulty ratings for various competitions. Ratings are determined for each leg of a given course and the platform enables users to predict his or her performance on an unfamiliar course based on course ratings and the user’s historical performance on other courses.

Originally catering strictly to triathlons, Beat Your Mark is expanding its database and interactive tools to marathons and additional endurance sport competitions as it initiates its North American presence. The Beat Your Mark platform is vertically focused around athletes' activities both for amateurs and professionals in all multi-discipline sports (running, swimming, cycling, etc.) while connecting all parties involved including trainers, event organizers and equipment manufacturers.

“Marathons, road races, swimming and cycling events are all equally important components of a triathlon. As we enter the North American marketplace, we want to expand our database to competitions featuring one discipline exclusively,” said Basheer. “By offering Beat Your Mark’s unrivaled performance features to single-discipline endurance sport competitions and acquiring our difficulty ratings patent, we have made significant upgrades to the overall functionality of the platform and can’t wait to see its acceptance in North America.”

Beat Your Mark features tools such as a Planner Application that enables athletes to manage their integrated multi-discipline training schedules, a Results Analyzer and Results Predictor allowing coaches to dissect and enhance their pupil’s performance, and Equipment Data Logs for manufacturers to view how an athlete’s equipment is being utilized both in training and competition.

Following a successful rollout in Europe, Beat Your Mark enters a North American triathlon community where an estimated 2.5 million athletes participated in at least one triathlon event last year while the US Triathlon organization currently has more than 550,000 members. Beat Your Mark looks to strategically target thriving triathlon and racing regions in the U.S. including Massachusetts, Texas, Florida and California, allowing triathletes, marathon runners, triathlon clubs, run clubs, colleges, professional organizations, event organizers and equipment manufacturers to engage with one another in a highly functional social environment.

Beat Your Mark has already engaged with one of the nation’s largest triathlon clubs and has agreed to a multi-year engagement with the Spanish Federation (FETRI). Beat Your Mark is offered online and via mobile application, and membership is free-of-charge. For more information, or to sign up for Beat Your Mark, please visit www.beatyourmark.com.
